The 2019 BMW X2 stands out for its unique design, but don’t underestimate the serious performance potential and the engrossing technology contained therein. This 5-door sport activity vehicle has a wealth of features and options to offer owners.

This model overview will discuss the most-talked about features of the new BMW X2. Let us know if you want to learn more about this vehicle.

What’s New in the 2019 BMW X2?

Performance

The base X2 comes with two drivetrains: the front-wheel drive X2 sDrive28i and the intelligent all-wheel drive X2 xDrive28i. Both of these models come with a TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder engine that puts out 228 horsepower.

For drivers who want even more power, there’s the X2 M35i, which makes use of BMW’s first M Performance 4-cylinder engine. With 302 horsepower and 338 lb.-ft. of torque, this model goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds. The M Performance trim also includes standard upgrades like M Sport brakes and an M Sport Differential that enhance the car’s natural agility.

With all the power packed under the hood, the X2 rises to meet expectations.

Design

BMW describes the X2 as having a “coupe-like silhouette,” and it’s easy to see when you look at the car. It’s compact but muscular with pronounced arches and tight lines running its length. Observant admirers will note the kidney grilles are flipped for a fresh take on classic design heritage, and the roundel even finds a new home on the C-pillar.

Inside, available M Sport seats can be covered in Magma Red Dakota Leather, and the Sport steering wheel puts you in complete control. What really ties the interior together is the rich array of tech features that BMW is known for.

Technology

A driver-focused car puts information where you need it and removes it from where you don’t. Unlike certain rival cars, the instrument panel of the X2 is clean so you can focus on what’s important. There’s also the option for a Head-Up Display that projects your speed, the current speed limit, and navigation info onto the windshield. You can keep your eyes on the road while retaining access to key details in your field of view.

Over on the center console, the BMW iDrive system is available with an 8.8” touchscreen display and supports Apple CarPlay™. The X2 is also available with a wireless charging pad for your phone and available onboard WiFi.
